This came during the committee's visit to the Department of eGovernment (DeG) at its headquarters in Sharjah as part of the committee's work for the third regular session of the tenth legislative term.
The committee learned about what the Department is implementing in providing services among the government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah and its related roles in establishing, unifying and developing the technical infrastructure for the government sector.
The Committee was chaired by His Excellency Obaid Awad Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of several members and dignitaries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, His Excellency Al Tunaiji, conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the Council and the Secretary-General of the e-Government Department and all its cadres, lauding their constant efforts in providing government departments with the various necessary technologies. He pointed out that the committee visits the Department within the framework of its plans to review the performance of all concerned departments and to present the various opinions and proposals necessary to continue carrying out its work within the framework of the support given by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, promoting the development of public performance and community service.
In turn, Her Excellency Noor Ali Al Noman, Director of the E-Government Department, welcomed the visiting delegation from the Public Utilities Committee, noting that the Consultative Council, since the establishment of the Department in 2015, has been keen to support the Department and issue recommendations that contributed to the development of performance continuously.
During the meeting, she presented all the work of the department and its role in spreading societal awareness and introducing technical developments.
The members of the committee discussed a number of different inquiries related to the department's work and its efforts to communicate with government departments and provide various different technologies, as well as the department's efforts to provide services from the infrastructure of the Sharjah digital platform.
