Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Culture and People Festival, held under the patronage of the wife of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, concluded its fifth edition.
A ceremony was held at Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs theatre to honour the festival's participants, supporters, and sponsors; Al Tunaiji Real Estate, Expo Centre Sharjah, Al Bataeh Municipal Council, Al Bataeh District Municipality, Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Sharjah Cooperative Society, and all 34 festival participants who contributed to the festival's success.
Salha Obaid Ghabish, Chairperson of the Cultural and Media Office, delivered a speech in which she welcomed the ceremony's guests and praised His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his pioneering cultural role.
She emphasised that because the participating parties recognised the festival's success in previous editions, participation in this year's edition was significantly higher than in previous years, with 129 cultural, artistic, and social personalities participating, as well as 43 institutions, and the festival drawing over 7,000 visitors. During the festival, nearly 99 events were open to the general public.
The festival featured a variety of family-friendly cultural, entertainment, and artistic activities over the course of four days, with the goal of communicating the Cultural and Media Office's message to the community, revitalising annual events and distributing them to the greatest number of participants.
