Sharjah Ruler attends Nimrod play at SPAA

Sharjah24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, attended the "Nimrod" play on Wednesday morning at the SPAA theater, which third-year students presented at the Academy. His Highness stressed the importance of the Academy is to promote Arab theater by qualifying its affiliates with the best methods and skills.

His Highness was impressed with the students' performance in producing the show according to the writer's perspective and bringing the text to life.

His Highness mentioned that theatre has been His highness' passion since childhood, made him study the art of theater throughout his life, stressing his constant support for theater and the Academy's students.

Dr. Peter Paulo, SPAA's Director, expressed gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his constant support to the Academy and its students and for attending the first theatrical performances by the Academy since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Paulo indicated that the students are keen to do more work and improve their skills and knowledge, appreciating the tremendous support of His Highness, the President of the Academy.

"Nimrod" is one of His Highness' famous works, which is about the famous king Nimrod the Ruler of Babylon and King of Assyria.

The play was attended by Abdullah Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture, and several other officials.
