Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club (SSC) believes the importance of the stage that our national team has gone through and its competitive position in the Asian supplement that qualifies for the upcoming World Cup finals. According to the applicable rules, the club and the player have adhered to them during the last period.
For the sake of transparency, and to clarify the circumstances of the above subject and to narrate the facts, and to refute the rumors that affected the player during the previous period, the Disciplinary Committee held Tuesday, on March 29, 2022 at 02.05 pm, an investigation session with the player, in the presence of His Excellency the lawyer Mohammed Ali Al Hammadi.
As for the first violation, which is the claim that he refused to sit on the bench and asked the coach to leave the camp, the player explained to the committee during the session that the coach met with the players and asked them to communicate directly with him if any player had comments or inquiries. He is essential in the next match against the Iraqi national team, after it became clear to him during the training that he was not in the main group preparing for the match.
Accordingly, the coach met the player and explained to him his point of view regarding the options for the next match, and Shaheen respected the coach’s point of view, but he was surprised by the decision to exclude him from the camp with his recommendation from the coach, and upon his arrival at the hotel, the team manager handed him his passport in implementation of the coach’s decision without inquiring about what happened between the player Shaheen Abdul Rahman and the coach of our national team.
The report of the National Teams Committee stated that the exclusion from the national team is the decision of the coach, and because the coach assumed, according to what was stated in the report referred to the National Teams Committee, ((that the player’s stay in the camp may create problems between the players....))
Second - With regard to the violation of Shaheen Abdul Rahman leaving the camp twice without permission, which the Disciplinary Committee based its decision on this violation, the player confirmed that leaving the camp was for personal reasons and took place with the permission and prior approval of the national team manager.
The club is also surprised by the contradiction between the team manager’s report and his media statements that ((there are no violations by all the players of the team, and he stressed in his statement their commitment and added that the issue of the player Shaheen is limited to his unwillingness to sit on the bench in the next match)).
For exiting without permission violation, the Disciplinary Committee issued its decision to suspend the player Shaheen Abdel Rahman for four official matches with his club and fine him AED200000, for leaving the team camp without prior permission, The report for this violation in his statements through the media, and the strange thing is that the committee did not respond in the reasons for its decision to these statements and evidence, which confirmed beyond any doubt the validity of what was stated in the player’s statement.
