Jameela Al Qasimi: Proud of people with disabilities achievements

Sharjah 24: Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) and Board Member of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), expressed her pride in the sporting achievements of persons with disabilities in all types of sports, including “Taekwon-Do”.
Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi received on Monday, March 28, 2022, 22 students with disabilities affiliated with the "Sport to Door" club to teach Taekwon-Do in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi praised the club's efforts in providing sports and social support for people with disabilities, and the club’s efforts to include and empower members and urge them to participate in local and Arab championships.

Professor Fajr Ali Al Bin Ali, member of the Executive Office of the Asian Confederation, member of the Bahrain Martial Games Council, coach of the Bahraini national team for Para Taekwon-Do, and founder and president of (Sport to Door) Club - Free Spirit - expressed the team members' happiness with this visit to learn about the city and its services. 

 
Professor Fajr Ali Al Bin Ali said that the club's participation in the "UAE Federation Cup for Para Taekwon-Do" is considered the first external participation of its members in combat games, and on this occasion, the role of the United Arab Emirates is highly valued in providing the opportunity for students with disabilities to participate in the tournament and prove their abilities and leave their first external imprint.

 Tawfiq Noueiser, Technical Director of the Bahrain Taekwon-Do Federation, said he was pleased to meet Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela and listen to her directions and see the great potentials in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, which is a ray of hope for people with disabilities, as this visit had a great impact on understanding and discovering the talents of this category. 

The expert Abdul Quddus Mohammed Ishaq, member of the Technical Committee of the Emirates Taekwon-Do Federation, coach of the Para Taekwon-Do team, expressed his thanks to Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi for her direct follow-up and directives to develop the sport of Para Taekwon-Do at the state level.

Abdul Quddus Mohammed Ishaq explained that SCHS is adopting Para Taekwon-Do training in cooperation with the Dubai Police Academy to implement the Para Taekwon-Do rehabilitation initiative due to its rehabilitation benefits for people with disabilities.

 At the end of the visit, SCHS students from Al Wafa School, the Masarat Centre for Development and Empowerment, and the players of the Sport to Door club gave a distinguished performance in Taekwon-Do, which was attended by Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, and Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, the Director of the City.
