Sharjah 24: During the academic year 2021-2022, 1993 persons with disabilities benefited from the educational, rehabilitation, and training programmes offered by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) to students of various nationalities and disabilities, in accordance with the best and latest international practices.
With the launch of the city's annual zakat campaign in the holy month of Ramadan under the motto "Your Zakat for Our Education," Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General SCHS, confirmed that 80% of the overall students benefits from the zakat campaign to cover tuition and education fees.
She stated that the city is proud of its students' academic achievements, as have it graduated 90 high school students, 12 of whom have earned a university degree, and 23 of whom are continuing their studies at a university.
She stated that the SCHS accommodated 568 students with disabilities into schools, assisted 395 persons with disabilities in finding work in public and private institutions, and benefitted 7,512 children via the Early Intervention Centre’s early diagnosis and survey.
Sheikha Jameela expressed gratitude to the Sharjah administration, Zakat campaign partners, sponsors, and supporters.
