Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) participated in the activities of the Second International Forum for Sustainable Development and Innovations, organised by the College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah.
Engineer Mayada Salem Al-Bardan, Director of Studies and Research Department, reviewed during the activities of the second session of the forum, SEWA efforts in the field of achieving sustainable development and studies and research implemented in cooperation with universities and research centres to apply best practices to preserve the environment and reduce carbon emissions.

Al-Bardan pointed out that the session organised by the forum entitled “Transition to Clean Energy and Reaching Carbon Neutrality by 2050” focused on innovative energy technologies, policies, investment and financing, as well as the role of government, industry, higher education institutions and society in creating positive impacts on society and the environment and achieving net zero emissions by the year 2050, and the transition to clean energy and stimulating innovation and creativity, which contributes to reducing costs and increasing revenues.

She explained that SEWA is keen to develop and consolidate relations with local and international universities and to implement studies and specialised research in the areas of the technical and administrative work of SEWA and apply the practical aspects of research and university studies.

Engineer Mayada Al-Bardan emphasised that scientific research is one of the most important means that SEWA relies on to achieve development and progress, and is considered the best option for setting strategic plans on the ground, by adopting the scientific methodology, and relying on scientific research and studies, to develop projects and services and face challenges.
