Sharjah Ports hands over new operations room to SPGC

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, represented by the Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points, handed over to the General Command of Sharjah Police (SPGC), the new operations room at the Khatmat Malaha Port, which was recently operated after the committee received it from the company implementing the security development project for the Khatmat Malaha Port.
The project was supervised by the General Department of Ports Security at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, in accordance with the agreement concluded between the two sides within the framework of existing cooperation in different fields related to upgrading the services provided through the ports of the emirate, to ensure the strengthening of security and customs controls and procedures at the port in accordance with the highest and best standards.

His Excellency Muhammad Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, handed over the operations room to Lt. Col. Walid Muhammad Al Nahm, Head of the External Ports in Sharjah Police.

His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi stressed that the handover of the operations room to the Sharjah Police General Command comes within the framework of the effective cooperation between the competent authorities in the ports sector at the emirate level, which contributed to a qualitative leap in the field of work in this vital sector.  

His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi added that cooperation allowed the exchange of expertise and experiences reflecting the spirit of integration and harmony between all concerned parties working at the ports and border points to improve the performance of operations, develop customer services and maximise the return on the community, in implementation of the Sharjah government’s strategy aimed at upgrading the work system at the ports of the Emirate of Sharjah, which contributes to supporting and strengthening the national economy and developing and facilitating the movement of trade and travellers.

Al Raisi pointed out that the operations room that was officially inaugurated at the Khatmat Malaha Port was equipped according to the latest technologies and artificial intelligence systems in place, with the application of the best leading practices that guarantee the security and safety of the port and maintain the efficiency of performance and operational processes.

It is worth noting that the Khatmat Malaha Port in the Emirate of Sharjah enjoys many advanced capabilities that make it today one of the best land border entry points at the UAE level, due to the state-of-the-art equipment, systems, software and hardware.
