Sharjah 24: "Knowledge Without Borders" initiative provided a new opportunity to readers and those interested in literature, science and knowledge, to enter into a multi-vision society of readers and share their perceptions and experiences in reading, whereas the initiative announced the launch of the "Friends of the reader Culture Club" coinciding with the "National Reading Month 2022".
In a panel discussion, moderated by Her Excellency Salha Obaid Ghabish, Head of the Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, fifty readers reviewed the book “Essential Messages” written by the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs highlighted the ideas and visions from which the book is based, and focused on the content, language and style.
Under the title "Challenges of Cultural Reading Clubs", the club gathered members in a brainstorming session, to determine the mechanisms and methods to be followed to ensure the greatest benefit from the experiences of discussing books and reviewing the cognitive and creative impact that participants can earn from joining reading clubs.
Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Without Borders, confirmed that the club focuses on building a database for readers that ensures their continuity and develops their skills, and contributes to encouraging reading within the community as a whole.
Al Hammadi hoped that the readers' club will benefit society and be an effective tool in spreading culture and awareness among individuals, contributing to the creation of a generation linked to books as a major source of knowledge.
Affiliate members of the club are granted several categories of membership, according to the reading hours they accomplish and their cultural participation, which are Distinguished, Silver, Gold, and Diamond readers.
