Sharjah24: As part of the launch of the activities of the 19th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD), organised by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), under the slogan "The Heritage and the Future”, at the historic Al Dhaid Fort in Al Dhaid. His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Almusallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage has expressed pleasure with the launch of the activities in one of the most important historical monuments in Al Dhaid and the country in general, as Al Dhaid Fort in Al Sheriaa will host, for 7 consecutive days, the SHD’s activities.
Al Dhaid Fort is hosted the activities, after being restored in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Khamis bin Salim Al Suwaidi Chairman of Districts & Villages Affairs Department, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Almusallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and a crowd of heads and directors of government departments, notables and people of the city of Al Dhaid.
He underscored the historical significance of Al Dhaid Fort in Al Sheriaa since ancient times, stressing that Al Dhaid is one of the cities most interested in heritage.
