Sharjah24: The Committee of Islamic affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Utilities, at the Sharjah Consultative Council reviewed the comprehensive plans for infrastructure, lands and services, as well as responding to the needs of the cities of the Emirate of Sharjah and its regions during its review of all the work of the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS).
This came during the committee's visit to the Directorate's headquarters in the city of Sharjah as part of its work for the third regular meeting of the tenth legislative term, within its preparation for the next session devoted to discussing the Directorate of Town Planning and Survey.
The visit was attended by His Excellency Obaid Awad Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of several members of the Committee.
During the meeting, His Excellency Eng. Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS) welcomed the attendees, praising the council’s permanent interest in the SDTPS’s work. He affirmed the SDTPS keenness to exchange views with the Sharjah Consultative Council.
In turn, His Excellency Obaid Awad Al Tunaiji has highlighted the keenness of the Council in promoting the SDTPS’s work, ensuring to provide it with the supports at various areas.
The Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning and Survey presented a visual presentation explaining its vision, mission and strategic objectives, with the aim of promoting the development process, adopting appropriate measures and responding to the needs of the emirate's cities and its various regions in a way that enhances social, economic and housing development.
The members of the committee raised many issues related to the works of the Directorate, especially in the policies of housing projects and infrastructure for residential, commercial and industrial areas.
