Sharjah24: The Sharjah Volunteer Center (SVC) at Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) participated in the Youth Forum, which was organised by the Bahrain Voluntary Work Society, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in which several volunteering institutions from the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Morocco, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia participated in the event, being held from 3-5 March.
The UAE delegation expressed their pleasure in participating in the annual voluntary work event, stressing that this is the Department’s second participation. The attendees discussed various topics that instill the spirit of citizenship and promoting the values of volunteer work among the people of the Arab Gulf, through different educational and volunteer programs.
The delegation also reviewed the pioneering experience of the Emirate of Sharjah in volunteering through the Sharjah Volunteer Center, and the services it provides, as well as briefing the attendees on the emirate’s remarkable online volunteering platform.
The delegation members experienced several social services programs that promote volunteerism among members of society.
In conclusion, the delegation was honoured in recognition for their participation in the forum. The delegation also expressed hopes that Sharjah would host such forums to strengthen relations with volunteers in several Gulf and Arab countries.
