Sharjah24: The Sharjah Volunteering Center at Sharjah Social Services Department organised the first volunteer forum under the slogan "Making Impact", in coinciding with the International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5 each year. The forum was held on Sunday morning at the University of Sharjah - Colleges of Medicine, with the participation of the General Command of Sharjah Police, and the Ministry of Health, as they constitute the first voluntary line of defense in the face of the Corona pandemic, in addition to representatives from the University of Sharjah and government and federal agencies, bodies and departments.
In the opening speech, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Volunteer Center, congratulated the UAE on the 50th National Day, congratulating our wise leadership, which was able to preserve the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed, the founder of UAE , in progress, advancement and prosperity so that our beloved emirates became one of the first countries.

Hessa Al Hammadi affirmed that five years ago, and under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Department of Social Services in Sharjah launched the "Sharjah Volunteer Center" with the participation of several government, federal and private institutions, to crystallize a new form of work volunteering in the Emirate and giving it an official stamp.

She concluded her speech by affirming that volunteering elevates the person, refines his personality, and instills this value in today's generation and future generation.

Several dignitaries delivered their speech at the forum that highlight several topics related to the voluntary works and its significant role in the society.
