Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) seeks to provide programmes that serve the family, the community and institutions, especially in light of the changes facing the entire world, therefore, SSSD focuses on the importance of social education in shaping new visions that keep pace with changes and developments, while at the same time preserving the Emirati identity, culture and heritage.
Maryam Al Qusayr, Director of the Department of Social Education, stated that the total number of educational programmes offered during the past three months is 1142, with 31082 participants of all age groups.
Al Qusayr said that the social change that occurred not only at the level of the UAe but at the global level, has produced many social variables, foremost of which is the transformation of extended families into nuclear families, which resulted in many social problems that did not exist before, and unfortunately, the current generation does not know who their relatives are and what the kinship relationship is, hence it is very important to restore the link between family members.
The Department of Social Education works to provide awareness and social training programmes for the community in all its forms, as well as providing family, social, psychological, legal and international health counseling around the clock, from 2016 until today, and it addresses all segments of society and all age stages.
The Department provides a team of trained educators and experts providing educational programmes in the Social Awareness Department, and in the Family Counseling Centre.
