Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) obtained an ISO certificate (ISO / IEC 27001) in the field of information security management and an ISO standard certificate in information technology governance (ISO / IEC 38500), which are considered among the best certificates in the world in the field of information security protection, application of data integrity and confidentiality standards through high-tech security systems, and strengthening the role of governance and control in the field of information security and risk management.
Majid Al Shamsi, Director of Audit and Risk Assessment Department at SEWA confirmed that the Authority is keen to adopt the best standards in the field of information security and governance, in order to provide a strong infrastructure and ensure sustainable services to customers and employees. He added that adopting best practices comes as part of the SEWA strategy to preserve and ensure data confidentiality and privacy, enabling the team to identify new risks, assess impacts, set the necessary systems and controls.
Majid Al Shamsi pointed out that the authority is working to provide all the necessary capabilities for the continuous improvement of services and keeping pace with the comprehensive cultural renaissance witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah in all fields.
Asmaa Al Hosani, Head of Corporate Governance, Risk and Compliance Department, explained that SEWA obtaining these two certificates represents a new achievement to be added to its record in the field of technology, and an affirmation of the effectiveness of the applied information security system, promoting digital transformation, providing and developing services and achieving the highest levels of customer and community satisfaction, which is a reflection of SEWA strategy and vision towards digital transformation in its services and procedures, the protection of its systems and data, and the enhancement of its advanced smart platforms.
Asmaa Al Hosani added that SEWA continues to develop further in the field of technology, governance and information security, automating all processes and procedures, and providing all requirements, technical tools and professionals in order to serve customers and improve work.
