Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and in support of his vision to elevate the Emirate of Sharjah's position on the global tourism map, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority organised the Sharjah Light Festival (SLF) for the eleventh consecutive year, beginning on February 9 and concluding on February 20 .

Three components of a formula Sharjah adopted for the past 50 years under His Highness the Sheikh Sharjah's Ruler, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, appeared prominently in the proceedings of the 11th session of the of the Sharjah Lights Festival the most prominent event on the Emirate’s agenda.
Sharjah's Islamic architectural heritage has been celebrated, bringing in thousands of visitors from inside and outside the country.
The facades of the emirate's most important architectural landmarks are illuminated with a kaleidoscope of colours and sounds from around the world. Audience members were taken on a journey through Sharjah's cultural, architectural, and artistic treasure trove over the course of 11 nights.
As a result of meticulous selection, a variety of places were chosen to host the light displays. These edifices are characterised by the beauty of their architectural elements, so light and music may change an ordinary sight into another imagination. The emirate's rich history and culture are commemorated on the building facades, which have been artistically illuminated to create a colourful mosaic.
Light technologies are employed in novel ways that not only add beauty but also lead the audience to another realm far from the daily, often embracing the distant past, in this unique experience that changed the city into an astonishing combination of colours and music. Visitors are taken on a voyage into the future at other times.
Over the days of the Festival, Sharjah lights up its most recognizable structures to illustrate its tale of growth and success. There's a sense of pride in Sharjah's historic sites, plaza, and old legacy during the festival's course of events.
Well-known worldwide light and music artists performed in Sharjah, showcasing the richness of Sharjah's culture and its magnificent sites in visually stunning light performances. To encourage the audience to re-discover these sites and locales, the light shows differ according to the locations they cover.
