Sharjah 24: The Department of Culture’s Office in Dibba Al Hisn, on Thursday, organised a dialogue session on the history of pearl diving, in which Mustafa Al Fardan, a researcher in the field of pearl diving, was hosted in Dibba Al Hisn Council
Wafaa Al Ghoul, Director of the Department of Culture’s Office in Dibba Al Hisn, His Excellency Suleiman bin Jumaoh, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn Council, and Lt. Col. Abdullah Rashid Al Kabouri, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Comprehensive Police Station, witnessed the activities of the session. In addition to a number of members of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Municipal Council, Dibba Al Hisn Council, and Dibba Al Hisn residents.
The dialogue session dealt with several axes, including the beginning of diving on pearls historically, touching on how it was the backbone of the economy in the past. It also discussed how the people of the Arabian Gulf were closely and strongly connected with the sea, as it is the main source of their livelihood.
