Sharjah24: His Excellency Dr. Sabah Aboud Al Jassim, Director General of Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA), explained that the statue of the legendary creature, which was discovered by the local archaeological excavation mission of the authority, was found in Mleiha and the statue dates back to the time of the Roman Empire in the first century AD.
Al Jassem confirmed that there is evidence and other archaeological evidence confirming that the bronze statue in its legendary shape, which the Authority announced its discovery; including: a group of Roman glass vessels, and many finds imported from the provinces of the Roman Empire.
Al Jassem added, in statements to "Sharjah 24", that the presence of such a statue confirms that Mleiha is a center for trade convoys, and an area of external contact with the regions of foreign civilisation, including: Roman Empire.
