SDPW marks World Quality Day

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) celebrated the World Quality Day, which falls in November of each year, with the aim of raising awareness and disseminating a culture of quality and excellence among employees, emphasising its direct impact on institutional performance.
Held under the slogan "Quality is the happiness of the customer", the event is part of a series of activities that included awareness brochures dealing with a number of ISO specifications applied in the department, the application of quality concepts in the daily work of employees, and an explanation of quality concepts and methods of their application.

Engineer Hind Nasser, Director of the Strategic Planning and Quality Centre at SDPW, stated that such initiatives and development activities stem from the strategic visions and directions of the department, as we are living in an era of knowledge and competitiveness to achieve sustainable development, noting that comprehensive quality is one of the modern concepts that aim to constantly improve and develop performance in line with local and global developments to achieve excellence in all operations carried out by the Department.

She pointed out that all successful departments depend on quality and creativity, and the World Quality Day comes as an opportunity to strengthen these foundations, stressing that quality in its simplest concepts is to reach customer’s satisfaction.

The department's celebration of the World Quality Day is an affirmation of its commitment and keenness to continue this approach with the practical application of the requirements of international quality systems.

The celebration included several activities and competitions in which the department's employees participated.
