Sharjah24 : The Marrakech Festival of Arabic Poetry pulled the curtain down on its third edition, which was held from 29 to 31 October 2021 in Marrakesh city under the auspices of King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Abdulelah Afifi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Moroccan Culture Sector, Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qasir, Director of Cultural Affairs in the Department, along with a large number of poetry lovers.
The participants of the event expressed their happiness for the festival organisers , extending their deepest appreciation to His Highness Ruler of Sharjah, as a supporter of culture and intellectuals in the Arab world.
For their part, Critics in the festival, Abul-Ela and Yagla highlighted the importance of poetry as the Diwan of the Arabs, commending the civilized initiative presented by Sharjah to serve poetry and poets in order to continue the brilliance of the poem march in the Arab world.
