Amman and Marrakesh celebrate poetry

South Sudan celebrates Arabic Poetry under Sharjah's patronage

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Bait Al-Sheir in Mafraq, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan organises the sixth edition of the Mafraq Arab Poetry Festival, from October 26 to 28. In addition, Bait Al-Sheir organises in Marrakesh, Morocco the third session of the Marrakesh Arab Poetry Festival from October 29 to 31.
His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, said that Bait Al-Sheir centres in the Arab world continue their cultural mission, within a comprehensive cultural system sponsored by Sharjah.

The Royal Cultural Centre in the Jordanian capital, Amman, will host Mafraq Arab Poetry Festival. The festival’s activities begin with the opening ceremony on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 with traditional musical performances, followed by official speeches by the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, the Department of Culture in Sharjah and Bait Al-Sheir in Mafraq.  The opening ceremony is accompanied by an exhibition of the publications of Sharjah Department of Culture, and the ceremony concludes with musical performances by a folkloric band. 

On the second day, the poetry evening will be attended by Adeeb Odaibat, Islam Alqam, Warda Saeed, Khaled Al-Sabti, and Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, while the third day, poets Mohammed Hamdan Al-Enezi, Afnan Al-Dawaima, Ahmed Al-Kinani, and Ahmed Tanash Al-Shantawi, will participate.

Bait Al-Sheir in Marrakech is organising the third edition of the Marrakech Arab Poetry Festival, which will start on Friday, 29 October 2021 in Moulay Abdel Salam Square, with an exhibition representing five years of Bait Al-Sheir in Marrakech.
