Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Culture in Eastern Region hosted a cultural art event, on Monday, as part of the literary councils' activities programme.
The event featured artist Ahmed Jarour's solo Qanun performance and an exhibition of paintings by artist Muhammad Al Ustad Al Hammadi, who discussed his long and illustrious career as an artist throughout a conversation session and reviewed a collection of his paintings, focusing on "Danat Al Shawati'," which he created 22 years ago. He also discussed the concept of creative visual culture.
Al Hammadi thanked the Department of Culture and the Khorfakkan Literary Council for promoting culture and arts and highlighting the originality of artists, from all walks of life, through their activities.
He told “Sharjah 24” on the sidelines of the conversation session, that the Khorfakkan Literary Council is a new tributary for intellectuals and experienced artists, as well as a channel and a gateway for fresh spirits.
Muhammad Salih Al-Suwaiji, Director of the Cultural Department in the Eastern Region, as well as a number of government officials and representatives, music and plastic art enthusiasts, and the department's staff, attended the event.
