Ali Al Ayed stressed the Ministry’s keenness to continue cooperating with SDC to implement activities, which resulted in many joint cultural activities, such as organising the Sharjah Narrative Forum, and celebrating the winners of the first Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of SDC said that Bait Al Sheir (Poetry House) established in Mafraq represents such cooperation, as part of the implementation of the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Al Owais confirmed Bait Al Sheir was established with the aim of strengthening cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Sharjah Department of Culture, achieving common aspirations to promote creativity in the two brotherly countries, and achieving a poetic renaissance.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between SDC and the Ministry of Culture in Jordan to enhance the role of Bait Al Sheir, inaugurated in Mafraq Governorate on July 22nd, 2015, within an official ceremony attended by official figures from both sides.
Hazza Al Barari, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, valued the permanent moral and material support provided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
It is worth noting that Sharjah Department of Culture keeps pace with the activities of Bait Al Sheir in Mafraq, like other poetry houses in several Arab countries, and the SDC officials are keen to participate in the major events organised by Bait Al Sheir.
