Al Musallam: huge Arab participation in Heritage Film Festival

Sharjah24: Sharjah Institute for Heritage organised, on Monday, the opening ceremony of the Arab Heritage Film Festival in its second session, which is being hosted by Khorfakkan, with the participation of about 10 Gulf and Arab countries.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, President of Honour of the Festival, His Excellency Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and a crowd of officials, interested persons and members of the delegations participating in the festival.

His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Musallam said in statements to “Sharjah 24” that what distinguishes the festival in its second edition are the various documentaries to be shown, which amount to 18 films, ranging in duration from 9 to 50 minutes, documenting crafts, arts and heritage.

His Excellency added that this year the festival combines photography and documentary films, and each of the two sides has specialised jury committees, pointing out its expectations for greater participation in its upcoming sessions, which are scheduled to combine documentaries, and documentaries - dramas.

The festival activities extend on the banks of Khorfakkan Beach until October 21, and include many cultural heritage seminars, art and photography exhibitions, folklore, as well as heritage film competitions.
