Dr. Abdullah Al Ketbi, Director of Academic Department at SIH, received new students and welcomed existing students, while Dr. Basma Kashmoula, Deputy Director of Academic Department introduced the educational programmes and the teaching hours, and faculty members; and she conducted an introductory tour of SIH departments.
Dr. Abdullah Al Ketbi said that the day was full of interaction and passion, and SIH was pleased to receive the new students of different fields of heritage by registering in the professional qualifications approved by the National Qualifications Centre at the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Abdullah Al Ketbi pointed out that SIH and all branches always seek to translate the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah in the world of heritage, and to emphasise the importance of heritage as one of the great parts of the national identity. He added that SIH has become one of the most important platforms concerned with heritage locally, regionally and globally.
SIH diplomas are related to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and they are the first of their kind in the Arab world. Diplomas aim to prepare, train and qualify professional staff concerned with preserving Gulf and Arab heritage, in light of SIH ambition to provide the cultural, educational and tourism fields with knowledgeable and skilful professionals for an effective management, preservation and promotion of heritage. SIH also aims to raise awareness on heritage importance to contribute to building human knowledge and developing a cultural economy.
