This came after receiving a report from a citizen at the Industrial Comprehensive Police Station, according to which a person wanted to purchase a land cruiser model 2020, and it was agreed to be purchased for 250,000 dirhams.

The person wrote a cheque of the same value in exchange for the vehicle's examination and two-hour trial to complete the sale, as agreed, but he stole the vehicle, switch off the phone and confirmed that the reporter of the case had been a victim of fraud.

Colonel Omar Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud, Director of the Criminal Investigations Department, explained: "As soon as the report was received, the necessary measures were taken, as the information collected within a short period showed that the gang, consisting of five members of different Arab nationalities, took a site in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as a place for their meetings, and use personal contacts to assign tasks and roles.

Colonel Balzoud stated that, after prior coordination with the Ras al-Khaimah police and all legal measures had been taken, all those involved in the case had been caught by Sharjah police investigators one by one in a security ambush and the stolen vehicle had been seized prior to its disposal.

He explained that by confronting the accused, they admitted to participating in the case, receiving financial quotas, in accordance with the agreed roles, all of them were arrested; legal proceedings were taken against them, and were referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Sharjah.

Colonel Bualzoud noted that the rapid reporting of the case had led to the failure of the gang's plan and the disposal of the vehicle, along with security coordination with the State's criminal investigation departments, had facilitated the identification and follow-up of the persons involved, the monitoring of their movements and the selection of optimal time for their capture.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the competent authorities and investigative officers of the Sharjah police, who were working on the basis of highly efficient security plans and strategies, consistent with the Ministry of the Interior's vision and objectives of making the United Arab Emirates one of the best countries in the world in achieving security and safety and enhancing the quality of security life.

Colonel Bualzoud urged the public to avoid dealing with unidentified persons, the need to request their data, and evidence of their personal identities, especially in sales and purchases, so that they do not fall victim in the hands of fraudsters.
