Maha Mansour Al Ali, Director of the Government Communications Department in the SSSD, stated the purpose of launching 'Safe Home' is to reduce the risks that can be avoided if we follow the guidelines of home safety and to ensure security to those who are less aware of safety guidelines, like children, the elderly, and the Disabled.
She added, that the SSSD has cooperated with several government agencies in Sharjah, and they have responded positively to participate and support the campaign. The 4,500 brochures will be in three languages: Arabic, English, and Urdu.
The brochures contain 3 types of instructions: home safety for the elderly by providing an alarm bell for the elderly in easily accessible places and providing medical beds with mobile side barriers to avoid falling; home safety for the Disabled by Providing slopes in homes, rough floors, and the bathrooms should be big enough and contain handles; home safety for children by keeping balconies and windows closed, avoiding placing anything high next to windows or balconies, and keeping them away from electric sources.
