Sharjah24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) organised a trips for 147 elderly to various tourist destinations, heritage, gardens and farms.
According to Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki, Director of Kalba branch, and supervising of the trip, “this trip provided the opportunity for senior citizens to exchange conversations with each other directly, after an interruption of about two years. at that time, our activities were remotely via video communication”.
72 employees and volunteers involved
The Director of Kalba branch confirmed that all precautionary measures were taken for all the participants in the trips, and Coronavirus tests were conducted for all of them, as well as the accompanying employees, who numbered 72 employees, in addition to 22 volunteers.
The trip lasted from 7am until 6pm, and a number of community figures participated in the trip, including the artist Issa Kayed, who participated in the competitions held for senior citizens, and Fatima Al Mughni, a researcher in Emirati heritage.
