Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) launched a seasonal influenza vaccination programme for senior citizens and employees as part of the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s National Campaign to Raise Awareness of Seasonal Influenza, which was launched under the tagline "Fortify yourself...Protect your community."
The campaign, which corresponds with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, aims to raise awareness about the viruses, their complications, and prevention strategies among health personnel and community people.
The department targets senior citizens and employees in the Emirate of Sharjah's cities, and it plans to pursue vaccinations for all employees in all of the department's branches in Sharjah and its connected cities next week.
The initiative to vaccinate senior citizens is part of the department's and its partners' efforts to implement initiatives aimed at serving and protecting parents of senior citizens while they are at home, as well as enhancing their safety and meeting their health needs, according to Kholoud Al Ali, Director of the Department of Seniors’ Services in the Department.
Somaia Al Hosani, Director of Human Resources, acknowledged that the department is committed to improving the health of its employees and attempting to make them happy through a variety of recreational, health, educational, and cultural activities.
