The Council asked all individuals and groups in society to reform their attitudes toward senior citizens, who serve as the nation's primary cornerstone and firm link between the past and the future.
The celebration was held in collaboration with the Services Department, Hamriyah Branch, and the Sharjah Co-operative Society, and was attended by Saif Obaid Bouvier Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Al Hamriyah Suburb Council, Humaid bin Khalaf Al Ali, members Majid Mohammed Muftah Al Shamsi, Dr. Sultan Fayez Al Shamsi, Ahmed Ali bin Mu'il Al Ketbi, and Jamal Majed Al Shamsi, and Abdullah Omran Al Shamsi.
The ceremony included several activities, along with a speech reiterating the country's commitment to providing the best and finest services, paying special attention to Seniors, and working to improve their comfort, as well as emphasising the importance of honouring this day as a gesture of loyalty to those who gave their lives in service to their communities and country.
Additionally, the celebration featured a folklore presentation by Sultan bin Gahan, a researcher and poet.
