Sharjah 24: Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ali bin Haider, Acting Head of the Buhaira Comprehensive Police Station, discussed, in an interview, a number of plans and procedures followed to reduce crime rates, and the behaviours encouraging theft, most notably leaving the vehicle in a working condition, in addition to taking all adequate precautions to secure the vehicle before leaving.
The interview was broadcast on the programme "Aman Ya Beladi", which is prepared and presented by the Department of Media and Public Relations of the Sharjah Police General Command, and broadcast live on Sharjah Radio.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ali bin Haider said that the Sharjah Police General Command is keen to follow an organised and analytical approach to address negative phenomena and behaviours in Sharjah, stressing that the aim of this campaign is to raise awareness among society members and protect their property in order to achieve the objectives of Sharjah Police in line with the vision of the Ministry of Interior making the UAE one of the best countries in the world in achieving security and safety.
Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director-General of Sharjah Police Academy spoke, over the phone, about the smart shooting range at the academy's headquarters, praising the generosity of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Council of the Academy of Police Sciences. Al Othmani confirmed that the indoor smart shooting range at the Academy of Police Sciences, is the first of its kind at the level of academies in the UAE.
Al Othmani revealed the advantages of the smart shooting range as a smart integrated digital field that simulates the security reality, accurately developing the skills of the shooter, in addition the field was designed in a smart professional manner with environmentally friendly shots.
Al Othmani indicated that the field is looking forward to dealing with a large segment of student officers and members from various police departments, in order to ensure permanent development in the security work and improve the expertise of workers through optimal utilisation of the capabilities available in Sharjah Police.
On the other hand, Engineer Musallam Muhammad Al Junaibi, Deputy Director of the Traffic Engineering and Road Safety Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, revealed over the phone, a wide range of improvements related to traffic regulations, such as the automatic monitoring of violations of drivers.
