Sharjah 24: His Excellency Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), announced that SDPW has completed in the first stage maintenance and development work for 30 fountains and 8 monuments, noting that the memorials are civilised landmarks that mirror the spirit of the art and history of the city and important attractions for visitors.
The work comprised the replacement of damaged components, improvement of lighting systems, mechanical, electro, sanitary maintenance and other necessary works, such as replacement of ceramic flooring, the appropriate insulation, marble replacement and fencing for some fountains and monuments.
SDPW has also improved surface drainage networks and installed equipment. The Green Belt Garden’s Fountain, the Central Market’s Fountain, the Monument of Sharjah the Islamic Culture Capital and Cultural Square are among most well maintained and developed.
SDPW maintains all types of buildings and provides high-quality services to all government entities and other departments affiliated with the Sharjah government, using cutting-edge technology and following international best practices.
