Sharjah24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) translates its support and assistance to Emirati women at the level of all its departments and branches in the Emirate of Sharjah, in addition to a series of initiatives that have been implemented in support of the national strategy for women's empowerment and leadership.
In conjunction with Emirati Women's Day, Fatima Ismail, representative of the department and member of the Committee to Study the Status of Emirati Women at the General Women's Union confirmed that; The department renews its pledge to confirm the continuation of its journey in empowering and supporting women, because of its importance in family balance, as it is the cornerstone of family stability and success.
Maryam Ismail, Director of the Women's Protection Center, explained that the center works to protect battered women by providing a decent life and sheltering her in a safe place that meets her needs, to protect her psyche, to face her circumstances and problems to resume her life better while preserving the family entity.
The center also seeks to embody the objectives of the department concerned with providing an appropriate infrastructure that takes into account the needs of women of all categories, enabling them to engage in various activities.
Maryam Ismail indicated that the department was able to achieve many achievements, especially in the field of family reform, through the "Women's Protection Center" and to restore the bond to families that were disintegrated or on the verge of disintegration, by providing places to shelter them and providing integrated social, psychological and legal care for them through various rehabilitation programmes.
The role of women in family stability
Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Aid Department, said: What distinguishes the Department of Social Services is that the majority of leadership positions are held by Emirati women; She pointed out that the Emirate of Sharjah pays great attention to women and all their roles.
Somaia Al Hosani, Director of Human Resources Department, stated that the female component in the department bears the responsibility and job burdens like their male brothers, noting that the number of Emirati female employees in the department has reached 458, or an estimated 81% of the total number of Emirati employees, while the number of jobs has reached The leadership that Emirati women occupy in the constituency holds 23 leadership positions, in addition to 53 heads of departments.
