Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality announced the approval of 127 thousand tenancy contracts during the first half of this year, as part of its keenness to legalise and regulate the relationship between the owner and the tenant, whereas all tenancy contracts shall be certified by the municipality. Sharjah Municipality provided customers with many channels to attest such contracts including multiple service centres affiliated to the Municipality and the online service.
Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Rent Regulation Department, confirmed that the Municipality is keen to regulate the relationship between the owner and the tenant through lease contracts that bind them legally, based on the Minicipality keenness to apply the highest standards of quality in performance
Hamed Al Qaed explained that the first half of 2021 saw the ratification of about 127 thousand tenancy contracts, including about 70 thousand tenancy contracts for family housing, about 954 thousand bachelors’ tenancy contracts, and other investment and commercial contracts. Contracts were digitally ratified through the Municipality's website, in line with the Municipality digital project and as a paperless institution.
The Director of the Rent Regulation Department stated that the first half of this year saw the hearing of 11573 rental cases by the judges of the dispute resolution committees, in the presence of the relevant parties; and issuing the necessary judgments.
