Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority (SDAA) organised a lecture entitled "Challenges of Currency Documentation" presented by researcher and historical advisor Dr. Moataz Mohamed Othman.
The lecture comes as part of SDAA’s efforts to familiarise members of society of the various historical aspects in the UAE, with regard to coins and its circulation in the past.
The lecture began with a review of the developmental stages of rare coins and banknotes that immortalise the memory of the most important historical periods in the UAE, which extends to previous centuries.
The presenter also highlighted the rich cultural resources available in the UAE, such as the presence of entities, institutions, departments, associations and centres specialised in reviving the culture of documentation and archiving, stressing the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, towards such efforts.
At the end of the lecture, Dr. Othman touched on the principles and rules of constructive criticism in the tasks of documentation and archiving, explaining that scientific criticism builds minds and trains them on logical thought based on argument and evidence.
