Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police (SP), represented by the Traffic and Patrols Department, launched a traffic awareness campaign under the slogan "Make Sure Road is Clear Before Entering", from the beginning of August, and will last for a period of one month, embodying the vision of Sharjah Police in line with the Ministry of Interior's strategy to make roads safer.
Lt. Colonel Mohammed Allay, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, stated that the campaign aims to enhance traffic awareness of the importance of making sure the road is clear before entering it. In addition to raising the level of compliance with traffic regulations and laws for road users.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department indicated that the launch of the campaign was based on the study of the traffic statistics index for the past year. It was found through the statistics that the violation of entering the road before making sure that it is cleared ranks fourth in terms of the cause of traffic accidents, and resulted in 22 traffic accidents with varying injuries, including 4 severe injuries and 6 deaths on the Emirate's roads

Lt. Col. Allay indicated that the campaign publishes awareness instructions in several languages (Arabic, English, and Urdu) through the social networking sites of the Sharjah Police, along with a number of print, audio and video media.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department pointed to the executive regulations of the traffic law, which stipulates a violation of “entering the road without making sure that it is clear”, with a fine of 400 dirhams and 4 traffic points.

He stressed that the intensification of traffic campaigns throughout the year contributes to educating members of society, which is based on the statistics of the past year, which contributes to finding solutions to some of the observations that were previously monitored, calling on drivers to abide by traffic laws, wishing safety for all.
