Sharjah24: As part of a series of eleven episodes, being published on Mondays and Thursdays of every week, "Sharjah 24" will explores the treasures, including more than 1500 manuscripts, of the Islamic Manuscripts House at the Al Qasimia University, which were gifted by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, since its opening on September 4, 2019.
The AQU's Manuscripts House, is the cultural beacon linking the past to the present that are constructed in a unique Islamic architectural style, including the rarest manuscripts.
Saeed Al-Madawi, the Director of the AQU's Manuscripts House, highlights during the first episode of "Treasures of Islamic manuscripts”, the importance of the manuscripts, explaining the methods of preservation them by working with various techniques.
He also sheds lights on the necessity to apply several conservation and restoration treatments, aiming to preserving the manuscripts in the most beautiful forms and for the longest period of time for the future.
The Director of the Manuscript House stresses that the preservation process takes place in accordance with all the international standards, contributing in the safe preservation of the manuscripts and the rare collectibles.
