Sharjah 24: The Department of Family Development Centres (DFDC) of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah (SCFA), continues to achieve the goals of the “Homeland is a Family” campaign, which is intended to consolidate the principle of family cohesion in society and focus the attention of individuals towards values that support family cohesion.
The third part of the campaign, which came under the title "Promoting strong and vital social ties," saw the participation of more than 1,200 people.

The dialogue sessions concluded with a number of recommendations and proposals, most notably the need to work to consolidate the role of social services in the process of community cohesion, and to enhance the values of volunteerism and social responsibility, to build a cohesive society, in addition to actuating the role of dialogue and brainstorming in building bridges of cooperation and communication to discuss the most important contemporary social issues.

The sessions also highlighted the importance of the media's role in consolidating family cohesion, and the need to work to enhance the role of young people in building stable families for a cohesive society.

Khadija Al Naqbi, general coordinator of the "Homeland is a Family" campaign, affirmed the administration's keenness to intensify its efforts in order to achieve the campaign's goals aimed at spreading a positive family awareness culture in line with the aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aim to combine all efforts for the family, explaining that the administration has sought, since its establishment, to achieve its supreme goal of deepening the cohesion of society and promoting values and culture that support the cohesive and stable family building, inspired by the visions and directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, which illuminated the way for the administration to fulfil its achievements aimed at supporting the family entity.

For her part, Moza Al Shehhi, Director of the Guidance Department in the DFDC, explained that the programmes and dialogue sessions organised within the third part were distinguished by their diversity and focus on a number of contemporary social issues that contribute to strengthening social ties, most notably highlighting the family cohesion and the national identity indexed in the UAE and how to invest these social development indicators in consolidating cohesion among members of society, in addition to focusing on enhancing the strength and resilience of societies to face various challenges, and activating the role of qualitative community participation that contributes to strengthening the fabric of society and its prosperity, in line with the UAE vision and its future plans, and in a way that meets requirements of the development process of the country.

Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki, Director of the Social Services Department in Kalba City, praised the efforts of the DFDC in promoting and educating community members on ways to build a stable and conscious family and instill positive social values and principles in order to build a cohesive society, stressing that the Department’s participation in the activities of the third part of the "Homeland is a Family" campaign comes within the framework of its efforts to enhance social and family cohesion, in addition to consolidating the principles of social responsibility and voluntary work and spreading its culture among members of society with the aim of building a cohesive society.
