Sharjah 24: The Department of Family Development Centre (DFDC) of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), organised last Tuesday the virtual specialised programme "Together for an Inspirational Family in One Gulf", as part of the activities of the "Homeland is a Family" campaign 2021, and within the of development of a high marital culture to build a stable and cohesive family.
The programme, which was presented by a group of consultants and specialists in family affairs from the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, witnessed the participation of 309 people and others from various institutions and government departments in Sharjah, as well as a number of community members.

The Programme, which was attended by Moudhi Al Shamsi, Head of DFDC and other representatives from different GCC countries, tackled several educational and family themes, including the mechanism for developing a family strategy for a happy and successful marriage, successful contemporary education methods, ways to achieve family cohesion, ways to face the challenges of marital life, the role of a positive view of marital life in promoting family stability, and the mechanism for distributing daily duties and tasks within the same family, in addition to reviewing the inspiring experiences of the lives of 5 families from different countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, as they have achieved the standards of family culture, through which they influenced the ideal image of the Gulf family.

Head of DFDC indicated that organising this programme comes within the framework of the DFDC’s endeavour to achieve one of the goals of the "Homeland is Family" campaign, which is to develop a high-class marital culture to build a stable family and help it remain a cohesive entity, stressing that the administration is working on launching awareness programmes and providing the highest levels of support and social care to all segments of society, under the generous care and close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, with the aim of promoting social values and culture that support the building of a cohesive family and contribute to its psychological and social empowerment.

She explained the importance of this programme in providing the participants with the necessary expertise and knowledge to build a healthy and stable family, knowing the roles and responsibilities of family member and  their rights and duties, in addition to training them on how to face life and family pressures, and activating the role of individuals in the family and social field, as well as strengthening positive behaviours and boosting the concept of family responsibility for all family members towards raising young people. She thanked the specialists for the valuable information they shared during the programme, stressing the administration’s keenness to consolidate cooperation with all parties and specialists in family affairs, to build an integrated work system based on successful experiences, scientific research and studies and best practices for the advancement of family.

It is worth noting that the DFDC has achieved remarkable success, as it implemented 86 training programmes within the themes of empowering the human personality, developing marital culture, strengthening social connections, in addition to enhancing the values and culture system in support of family cohesion, in which 14,675 people participated.
