"Taste of the Wolf" in the Arab Cultural Club

Sharjah 24: The Arab Cultural Club in Sharjah organised a remote literary evening, where the Sudanese critic Muhammad Sayed Ahmed presented a literary reading of the novel “Taste of the Wolf” by Kuwaiti writer Abdullah Al Busais.
The evening was moderated by Muhammad Walad Muhammad Salem, head of the cultural committee in the Club, who said that Al Busais as a young Kuwaiti poet and novelist excelled through his novels and won many awards, among which an award for his novel “Taste of the Worlf”.

Mohamed Sayed Ahmed began his speech by presenting a summary of the novel "Taste of the Wolf", and said that it revolves around the desert world, which is a new geography in the Arab novel, that appeared for the first time Abdel Rahman Munif, Ibrahim Al-Koni and other writers novels.

Sayed Ahmed added that the novel was written with an eloquent language in terms of vocabulary related to the desert, dramatic narration, and in terms of description.

He described that the language of the novel is also surrounded by drama, and it is narrated through verbs that indicate vitality, movement and motivation.

Muhammad Sayed Ahmed indicated that the novel events dealt with three types of conflict: a social conflict with tribes traditions, a conflict with nature, and an internal psychological struggle over death, life, honour and heroism.
