Sharjah 24: The Arab Cultural Club in Sharjah organised, on Sunday, the third edition of the annual exhibition "Letters from Nour" for Arabic calligraphy, in cooperation with the Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation.
Ali Al Mughani, Vice-Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, Ibrahim Butti, Director of the Club, and Khaled Al Jallaf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation, attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibition included more than twenty pieces, presented by 18 artists of different nationalities, Emirati, Arab and Asian.
Speaking about the exhibition, Al Jallaf began by thanking the club for the cooperation with Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation, which resulted in several exhibitions and workshops over the past years, and contributed to introducing the public to the art of Arabic calligraphy and teaching the art of calligraphy to many children and teenagers.
He added that the exhibition this year overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Regarding the exhibits presented in the exhibition, he highlighted that Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation was keen to make the exhibition diversified and include all forms of creativity in the field of contemporary Arabic calligraphy.
