Sharjah24: In order to achieve the objectives of the Prevention and Safety Authority, in enhancing the security of the population and protecting lives and property, by raising the level of preventive awareness for all segments of society, Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA) held a series of awareness programmes aimed at protecting individuals from accidents, in cooperation with a number of government agencies in the Emirate.
During the second week of the campaign (Occupational Safety and Health for University Students), Aisha Al Zadjali, Training Specialist at the Authority, presented a specialised training programme targeting University of Sharjah students, administrative and academic bodies, including means of prevention while on campus in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and the surrounding risks in facilities, as well as attention to the mental health of students.

Al Zadjali provided a training workshop on (first aid), where 17 trainees of people of determination were trained on first aid procedures until paramedics arrive at the accident site.

Mona laRdi, a training specialist at the authority, presented the training programme (Prophylaxis, Health and Occupational Safety Procedures) in cooperation with the Umm Al Quwain Youth Center, benefiting (124) trainees, as the programme discussed occupational safety procedures to be followed in different work sites.
 
Maryam Al Suwaidi, a laboratory technician in the Central Laboratories Department in Sharjah Municipality, one of the graduates of the professional diploma to prepare occupational health and safety trainers - launched by SPSA, presented the training programme (Laboratory Safety), which was launched over two days, as the workshop targeted the employees of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety and Central laboratories in Sharjah Municipality.
  
Sheikh Saif Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the SPSA, said, that the Authority cooperates permanently with all government and private agencies in order to raise the level of preventive awareness among members of society, and works with various authorities to achieve its vision aimed at achieving a safe society free from dangers, and setting proactive plans that will prevent individuals and protect them from potential accidents.
