Sharjah24: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance the security of the population and protect lives and property, by raising the level of preventive awareness for all segments of society, the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA) held a series of awareness programs aimed at protecting individuals from accidents, in cooperation with a number of government agencies.
During the 2nd week of the campaign (Occupational Safety and Health for University Students), the Prevention and Safety Authority presented a specialised training program targeting the students of the University of Sharjah, and the administrative and academic bodies, highlighting the importance of adherence with COVID-19 Preventive Measures, benefitting 36 trainees.
The Department of Training Institutes and Individuals at the Prevention and Safety Authority also presented the training program, in cooperation with the Umm Al Quwain Youth Center, benefiting 124 trainees from the public. The program discussed the occupational safety procedures to be followed in various workplaces.
Several graduates of the professional diploma for the preparation of occupational health and safety trainers - which was launched by the Prevention and Safety Authority to train safety ambassadors in various work sites in the Emirate of Sharjah - presented other awareness programs. These awareness initiatives reflect the keenness of the Prevention and Safety Authority to raise awareness of occupational health and safety concepts among all segments of society.
