Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command (SP) has reported the death of an eight-year-old Asian boy to the Public Prosecution Office in Sharjah, after he went missing from his parents' home on Sunday afternoon, June 27, and was discovered inside a vehicle parked next to their house whose owner had failed to close its doors.
According to preliminary investigation, the child entered the vehicle to play and was unable to exit after locking the door. The cause of death was high temperature and long period of being unventilated; the forensic laboratory determined that there was no criminal suspicion in cause of death.
Because of their lack of awareness, children are often unaware of the dangers that may exist around them; it is our obligation to safeguard them.
Sharjah Police extends its heartfelt condolences to the child's family and regrets the tragic accident, emphasising the significance of parents fulfilling their responsibilities to their children, not neglecting them, taking safety procedures to prevent such accidents to happen and they should make sure to close the doors of vehicles before leaving.
