Sharjah 24: The 34th Police Friends Summer Course for this year, started online using virtual communication technology, where 116 male and female students from different Emirates participated. The Course is organised by the Department of Media and Public Relations and the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy, and will continue until July 15.
Lt. Col. Mohammed Saeed Al Dhahouri, Head of Public Relations Department at Sharjah Police, said that the summer course introduces a series of lectures and educational workshops in security and social services; the course also tackles a number of topics including traffic and health.
Lt. Col. Al-Dhahouri stressed that the Police Friends Course targets students, whereas they represent the future generation of the UAE, and police authorities role lies in providing beneficial activities during the summer vacation; instilling the values of loyalty to defend and protect their country; and providing them with some military skills. Lt. Col. Obaid Abdul Rahman Al-Assam, Head of Training Affairs at the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy, confirmed that it the Academy was keen to organise the summer course, despite the effects of the pandemic, pointing to the Academy important role in handling the training aspect during the summer course, whether in military exercises, military discipline, physical fitness programme, and self-defense, as well as first aid sessions.
Lieutenant-Colonel Al-Assam explained that the military and physical trainings are carried out by specialised trainers in all the training course programmes, calling students enrolled in the programme to benefit from the military skills and techniques.
