He said that Sharjah Police wanted to initiate some future and proactive solutions to meet the challenges posed by drugs through launching two pilot projects: "Drug Fingerprint" and the "Smart Rehabilitation Watch", which the Sharjah Police have been working on for a long time to reach the desired goals.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Brigadier General Al Sarkal added that three main initiatives were presented this morning. The Drug Fingerprint, a project that extends for three years, and is launched in cooperation with the Criminal Laboratory Department, will benefit many parties around the world.
He continued that the Smart Rehabilitation Watch, which is in its final stages and will be launched soon, is concerned with following up the case of the addicted in their homes.
About the smuggling operation, Al Sarkal said that the abortion of the operation took place at Port Khalid, where a quantity of 215 kilograms of crystal drug, heroin and opium worth AED35 million were seized. He thanked all those participated in foiling the smuggling operation.
