SP concludes ‘comprehensive police stations championship’

The championship, which saw the presence of Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations, and Colonel Yousef Obaid bin Harmoul, Director of the Comprehensive Police Stations Department at Sharjah Police, comes within the framework of Sharjah Police’s annual summer programme.

The final day of the championship was organised under the theme "Peak Hour" in support of the initiative launched by the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, which falls on the first of July of each year, with the aim of reducing electricity consumption during peak hour, which was set from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.

Sharjah Police’s participation in this important initiative stems from its belief in the importance of awareness in preserving resources and promoting sustainable development by reducing emissions affecting the environment, and enabling it to meet present and future challenges.

The competition resulted in Wasit Police Station team’s 4-1 win over the Industrial Police Station team.

Major General Al Shamsi praised the incorporation of the final tournament with the slogan “Peak Hour”, to promote awareness of preserving the environment, and to guide workers to carry out their responsibilities towards rationalisation, to be a lifestyle to reduce climate change, which reflects the social responsibility and the pioneering environmental awareness role played by the police in this side.

At the end of the tournament, Colonel Yousef bin Harmoul, Director of the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, presented a souvenir to the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, in appreciation of his keenness and interest in sponsoring various activities and tournaments that positively reflect on the health and morale, and enhance the quality of life among Sharjah Police employees.
