The programmes are in line with the “One Million Arab Coders” initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology, general managers, a number of professors at the Higher Colleges of Technology, and programme participants attended the honouring ceremony.
Major General Al Shamsi stressed, in his speech, at the graduation ceremony, that Sharjah Police organised this important programme to recognise the importance of advancing its leading role in the rehabilitation and development of professionals in the field of modern technologies, in accordance with the best international practices, to invest in the human capital according to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology, during the ceremony, praised the fruitful cooperation between the Colleges of Technology and Sharjah Police to implement this programme, explaining that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched in 2017, the “One Million Arab Coders” initiative, through which His Highness wanted to shed light on the importance of technological skills to build a knowledge economy based on creativity and innovation.
Dr. Al Shamsi noted that the colleges of technology had greatly interacted with the initiative, believing that empowering youth, refining their knowledge and developing their professional skills are an integral part of the colleges’ strategy. He added that the Colleges enabled students to obtain more than 4000 certificates in programming accredited by Ministry of Artificial Intelligence.
