Major General Al Shamsi attends first Padel Tennis Championship

Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, has attended the first edition of the Padel Tennis Championship, which kicked off Wednesday at Padel Arena in Mleiha with full observation of all precautionary and preventive measures due to covid-19.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director-General of Sharjah Police Academy, and Colonel Tariq Al Midfa, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Sharjah Police were also present at the honouring ceremony organised by the sports and social activities department of Sharjah Police.

Commenting on the championship, Major General Al Shamsi said: "We, at the Sharjah Police, are always keen to search for the best organisational ways and international sports practices, which help the police personnel acquire many skills in various types of sports activities that contribute to raising their level of physical fitness, so we decided to organise "Padel Tennis" in its first edition due to its wide spread worldwide.”

He expressed his pride in the level of the players participating in the tournament, and the distinguished results they achieved.

The Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police revealed the construction of 3 new Padel Tennis courts, which will be inaugurated soon for all members of the Sharjah Police and their families, as a new feather in the cap of Sharjah Police achievements in sports and community activities.

At the end of the tournament, Major General Al Shamsi honoured the winners, and thanked  Ahmed Ghanem Al Hajiri, owner of the Padel Arena, and Mohammed bin Aboud Al falasi for their efforts in making the tournament a success.
