Sharjah24:Continuing with the mission of providing a wide range of creative and educational programmes for its young members to continue their learning journeys and discover hidden talents, Sharjah Girl Guides (SGG) held a couple of interesting workshops which SGG members attended virtually.
Targeting Brownies and Guides, the expertly designed workshops held on May 29 aimed to teach specialised skills while seeking to enable the young participants make productive use of their time at home.
Emirati artist Aisha Al Hamrani, popularly known as ‘Mnawrah’, headlined a workshop on 3D Drawing, inspiring Brownies to apply their imagination and skills to create interesting characters in 3D. Al Hamrani introduced them to the art and science of 3D technology and took them through the techniques and processes to rendering professional drawings. The Brownies who participated were presented Art badges.
The second interactive workshop, titled Art of Perfumery and held on the Webex platform, introduced Guides to the basics of fragrance mixing. Prior to the session, participants were provided with a mixing kit that included natural aromatics and blotting paper, along with an instruction manual. The young perfume makers then followed the step-by-step guidance they were given by the workshop presenter to create their own distinctive fragrances. They earned an Art badge for their efforts.
Senior Guide to headline June workshop
Furthering its objective of encouraging its members to actively take up leadership roles, SGG’s June workshop will be led by Senior Guide Hussa Al Hosani. Titled Feature in Shadows, the fun interactive session to be held on June 12 will see Al Hosani guiding the participating Brownies to channel their creativity and enhance their drawing skills with lessons on mapping and shading. The Brownies will earn Art badges.
